Rebecca Wear is a freelance director, dramaturg, and educator currently based in California (previously New York). Rebecca makes work about the things we don't know how to talk about; she gravitates towards culturally specific new work that examine how ideas, capital, and identities shift across borders, time, and language. To mine this complexity, she often collaborates with musicians and composers, choreographers and dancers, puppeteers, and surrounding/repurposed geography. Rebecca is a resident director at HERO Theatre and was a member of the The National Director's Fellowship 5th cohort. Her creative collaborations have been supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the UC Critical Refugees Studies Collective. |
